During the holidays, when the giving season was upon us, FIJI undergrads recently came together to give back to the community. This past Thanksgiving, the house hosted 200 students – mostly international students who couldn’t return home for thanksgiving. For those who could not show up to the house, we packed around 50 meals and took them to the Union Building as grad-n-go meals, we also delivered food to the Spiritual Center to help provide the full meal for their Curry Friday meal. We could not have done this without the help from the Fiji house facilities manager, Jennifer Weddle, and our brothers who stepped up to help! We had two dozen volunteers gather at the CDI on Wednesday and prepped 25 different recipes. The remaining food came from several Indy restaurants. DePauw graciously agreed to pay for all the food. At the event, guests signed in and drew pictures of their country flag.
It was a very fulfilling day to see how appreciative everyone was!
