Despite the ongoing pandemic, Lambda Fiji was one of few fraternity chapters that carried successful philanthropy last semester fulfilling our value of Service. We partnered with the Alpha chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta for our annual Bark-B-Que philanthropy to raise money for the Humane Society. Having followed all of CDC and DePauw COVID guidelines, our event looked a little different this year. Instead of having food at the event, we partnered with Greencastle’s McDonalds for 15% of their proceeds to go towards the Putnam Humane Society for the duration of a 4-hour event. We were able to raise $360 for the Humane Society. Additionally, despite the limited attendance, social distancing, and wearing masks at the on-campus physical event, we met a few freshmen who have now become new members of Lambda Fiji.
